The Senic Smart Home app will walk you through the setup process step-by step with detailed instructions. You should use the app as your primary guide, but you can also follow along and find some extra details here.
1. Plug in your Hub
Pick a spot with a good WiFi connection and connect your Hub to power. Wait for the LED on the front to turn on (takes about 30 seconds).
Do not plug an Ethernet cord into the Hub, as this will disrupt the onboarding process.
If you are using Nuimo Control, the Hub should be connected to power in the room you want to use Nuimo Control in. In general, Nuimo Control’s BLE connection is reliable for distances of 8-10 meters with little to no interference.
It can take up to 2 minutes for the Hub to show up in the Senic Smart Home app. If the LED has not turned on and/or the Hub is not showing up in the app after 2 minutes, please disconnect the power from the outlet, wait for 10 seconds and then reconnect. Make sure the cable is plugged directly into the Hub at a right angle.
2. Connect to WiFi
Follow the steps in the app to connect your Hub to your WiFi network at home. Make sure that your Hub is connected to the same network as your smartphone and smart devices.
This network must be a 2.4 GHz network. 5.0 GHz networks are not supported.
3. Scan for smart devices
Once your Hub is connected to WiFi, the Hub will automatically scan for the smart devices on your network. Wait until the Hub has discovered all of your devices before continuing.
If you are using Philips Hue, you must follow the pop-up instructions in the app to authenticate your Philips Hue bridge before continuing.
Note: At this point your Hub will automatically check for any new updates to the software. If your Hub is running an old software version, the app will automatically notify you that it must update. Please wait for this update and then proceed with onboarding.
The first update has important features and bug fixes and will take between 25-45 minutes depending on your internet speed. You can use your phone as usual while the Hub updates via WiFi (feel free to exit the app or even leave the house). If the update takes longer than 1 hour, please write us at firstname.lastname@example.org and someone from our team will help you troubleshoot. Once the update is complete, you will be redirected back to the home screen. Please note that this is just for the first update, after that your Hub will automatically update over-the-air.
4. Add a controller
Once you’ve confirmed that your devices have been found, you’ll be directed to the home screen. This means your Hub has been successfully onboarded!
Follow the paths to adding either a Nuimo Control or Nuimo Click.
